DELE vs SIELE: what's the difference?
The short version: DELE is a permanent, lifelong diploma from Instituto Cervantes that you sit at one chosen level (A1–C2) on fixed exam dates; SIELE is a computer-based test you can take year-round that gives you a score across levels, valid for five years, with fast results. Both are official and CEFR-aligned — the right one depends on why you need it.
The single biggest deciding factor is your goal. If you need it for Spanish nationality or residency, you need the DELE (with the CCSE test) — SIELE is not accepted for that. If you just want flexible, fast proof of your level, SIELE is usually the easier path.

Should I take DELE or SIELE?
